POLICIES & PROCEDURES

2023-2024

SCHEDULE (DAILY)

School starts each day at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. Students are off on Friday but are expected to catch up on any work they missed during the week.

ATTENDANCE

A student must bring a dated, signed note from his parent or guardian after being absent for any reason. The note should state the reason for being absent. All absences will be marked “Excused” or “Unexcused”.

Excused Absences - illness, serious illness or death in family, medical or dental appointment.

Unexcused Absences - any type of work.

CELL PHONES

At the beginning of each day, students place cell phones, with all notifications muted, in a box. When students leave at the end of the day, they can pick up their phones. However, when making phone calls and texting with mentors or business people, students can get the phone out of the box until finished with their contact(s). During lunch, cell phones will be left in the box. On occasion, students may be given access to phones at lunch as a reward.

CURRICULUM

We do not charge typical private school book fees because the curriculum differs for each student based on their interests. Students have taken Gordon Ramsay cooking classes, a class on how to start a vending machine business, and a video animation class. In addition, students work at their own pace. Because of this, one student may master Algebra I In 6 months while another student might take more than a year to master Algebra I. Because of these factors, we cannot charge a set book fee at the beginning of the year. However, if we see a class that we think would work great with your child's interest, we may approach you about paying for the class. Before doing this, we explore a variety of options seeking the best value.

LAPTOPS

Students will need laptop computers to search for interesting businesses, do some math assignments, record their contacts with businesses, and write their presentations, among other things. In order to ensure that students stay focused on their work, teacher(s) may periodically ask students to show their internet browsing history. Chromebooks are strongly recommended because of their ease of use and low cost.

LUNCH

Students bring their own lunch. A microwave oven is provided and toaster oven, if needed. Also, a refrigerator is provided. On occasion, we may order food or pick up something from a nearby restaurant.

REGISTRATION FEE

This annual fee is due with registration each spring and is non-refundable. The feet amount is decided upon by the school administrator. The current registration fee is listed in the Tuition & Fee Policy.

TARDINESS

Students are considered tardy if they arrive after 9:00 a.m.

TUITION

Tuition is paid monthly for 10 months, with the 1st payment being due August 1. Payments can be dropped off with Brad or with Carolyn at the Christ Community Church office. Current tuition amounts are listed in the Tuition & Fee Policy
